沈鸿雁1977年10月出生。2005年获得北京大学化学专业博士学位，毕业后留学于美国北卡州立大学。主要从事多肽类农药制剂的结构改造及性质变化鉴定的研究。在国内外期刊杂志发表学术论文近十篇。
